DUETTE CELLULAR SHADES IN DETAIL

Duette Honeycomb Shades

With a wide array of fabrics, pleat sizes, colours and textures, Duette honeycomb shades enhance any décor. Hunter Douglas‘ newest innovation, the Duette Architella Collection, offers luminous colours and true, crisp pleats. The state-of-the-art patented design with three distinct air pockets provides a high level of energy efficiency with the Duette shade.

The Duette Architella Shade is one of the most popular window coverings that we sell at our Hunter Douglas store. A popular choice is the semi-opaque fabric which allows the light to filter into the room, but is totally private and blocks the heat in the Summer months and keeps the heat from leaving your home in the Winter months. Most customer select the Duette Opaque fabric or blackout for bedrooms. In the Duette Architella shades the inner cell is room darkening and does not allow the light to filter through the fabric. This opaque fabric has an even higher R value than the Duette semi-opaque fabric so consumers enjoy an ever greater cooling and retaining of heat effect. Exclusive to the Duette Honeycomb cellular collection is the ultra-glide retractable lifting system, not available on any other honeycomb shade in the industry. PowerView is also an option for lifting Hunter Douglas Duette shades and is also an option for lifting bottom up/top down shades. An App is available for the iphone and ipad to program Duette shades so they will operate at the times they are programmed for.

Energy Efficiency

Keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer

Hunter Douglas, is an industry leader in making a big energy savings difference at the window. In 1985, they invented the highly energy-efficient Duette honeycomb shades in response to the energy crisis of the late 1970s. Today, they continue to think about the impact all of our window fashions can make. Without energy-efficient window treatments, as much as 50% of a home’s heating and cooling energy can be lost through its windows.

Insulation

The warmth provided by the sun, its solar energy, may be desirable during the winter to help heat your home, but in the summer, it can make a room overly hot and uncomfortable—driving up air conditioning costs. Many Hunter Douglas window fashions help to control solar heat by allowing it into your home in the winter and minimizing the amount that comes in during the summer.

Solar Heat Control

In winter months, your home heating escapes to the outdoors through your windows while in the summertime, the outside heat flows into your home through these same windows. With window treatments that provide insulation, you can reduce energy consumption, save on heating and cooling costs, and create a more comfortable atmosphere.
